The Jim Gibbs Student Awards

The Jim Gibbs Student Awards is for students currently enrolled in or recent graduates of advertising, graphic design, photography, illustration or new media. Only full¬-time undergraduate students or recent graduates are eligible. Recent graduates must have completed their program of study between last April and this March to be eligible. Cash awards will be distributed among the following categories:


Best Portfolio

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards will be given to three students who submit portfolios that are considered to be the most exceptional by the Graphex judges.Portfolios must consist of 7-10 individual projects. The individual projects that make up the portfolio will not be considered by the judges when reviewing the individual student competition categories. If you would like any of your projects from your portfolio to be judged along with the other submissions in the individual categories, you must submit it separately.

How to Submit Work to Graphex

Entries must include the Student Entry Form, completely filled out by the student/recent graduate and signed by the professor. Entries will not be accepted without a completed form that is signed by one of the student’s design professors.


Portfolio Entry

$15 /  7-10 pieces judged as a collective


Single Entry

$10 /  5 entries limit

(Individual projects that are part of the portfolio submission will not be judged as single entries)
