11:21 // 5th Annual ADCT Block Party

Block Party is ADCT’s yearly art party to raise funds for art students. How it works: Artists have their way with a 3.5″ x 3.5″ wooden block which will be silently auctioned off the night of the block party. The funds raised will be awarded to exceptional art students during our Graphex 45 awards presentation. In previous years we’ve been able to give $5,000 in student awards—please join us in trying to increase that # this year and have a great time doing it!

The party will be held at Living Arts Gallery (307 East Brady Street) November 21, 6-9 pm where we will silently auction off artist’s blocks. There will be a $4 cover charge (artists donating a block to be auctioned will get in free). Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place blocks and also for the highest bidding block. h’orderves and cash bar will be available.

To be a participating artist in this year’s Block Party:

STEP ONE: Pick up block.

You can pick up your block at ADCT’s September & October meetings. (1: Robynne Raye, September 19 @ Living Arts & 2: Robert Valentine October 17 @ Living Arts)

STEP TWO: Design your block.

Feel free to do whatever you want to this block. Paint it, Sculpt it. Carve it. Photograph it. Whatever. You can even make your own block out of something else. Keep in mind we want to sell this block for big, big money so do something amazingly crazy fantastic :).

STEP THREE: Return Finished block to Acrobat Ant (1336 E. 15th Street, Tulsa, OK 74120) on Nov. 12th from 9:30 am–6 pm.?(If you can’t return block at this location/date, please contact Bhadri Verduzco for other delivery instructions.)

STEP FOUR: Party @ Living Arts Gallery (307 East Brady Street)

Join us for the Block Party Celebration at Living Arts, November 21, 6-9 pm where your block will be part of the silent auction.

What if my block doesn’t sell?

You can take it home with you or donate it to someone at the party, but we have sold every block at each of the last two annual events.
