Cooper Event – Photo Recap
Thanks again to everyone who came out to the Kyle Cooper event last week. Below are some our favorite quotes and shots from the event, many taken by YOU! What was your favorite part of his presentation?
If you have spotify, set the scene to this post by listening to our playlist, featuring the songs from Kyle Cooper’s work.

A few highlights from the presentation:
“You can win with a pencil.” – Cooper on creating something great with little resources.
“What motivation can you possibly have to be nice ALL the time?!?” - The importance of Paul Rand’s sometimes brutal honesty, and how it can be kinder to tell the truth, even when the truth isn’t pretty.
“You’ve gotta keep your hand in it, brother.” -Cooper quoting Paul Rand, on the importance of staying involved and physically creating things.
“I don’t think you can understand goodness without darkness.” – Explaining why his work is often considered creepy and dark. He went on to say that he felt uncomfortable cutting the word “God” from a dollar bill for the Se7en sequence. But the title needed to make people uncomfortable, to set the tone for the film.
“I got an F in Interior Design I.”
“I feel like clapping after that…” – Cooper feeling enthusiastic after the end of his own demo-reel. We agree, definitely applause worthy!

After the event we had Mr. Cooper sign this lovely block. This masterpiece will be up for auction at our annual Block Party, taking place on November 29th. There’s still time to pick up blocks – entries are due November 15th! Even if you’re not creating a block, be sure to come out and bid on this block and all the others. It’s for a good cause. Will we see you there?
